My task was to design the hypothetical packaging for Aroy-D’s curry line for Upper middle-class busy moms that are unpretentious, enjoys brands like ‘No Name’ and main priority is to fulfill their basic needs. My approach was to strip back the design of the iconic Thai brand just enough to keep a nostalgic and eclectic feeling through the mix of 4 typefaces and simple illustrations.

OUROBOROS is a publication that critiques the past, present, and future of time poverty (the feeling of not having enough time for what you need/want to do). Designed with no beginning or end, the reader can start at any chapter, experiencing the book as an endless loop like the snake eating its own tail. This non-linear structure embodies abundant anti-capitalist perspectives on time. The four chapters touch on the development of our shifting relationship with time, critiquing capitalist clock time, discussing the science of space time and the search for time affluence.

It urgees you to question who can afford to slow down and has time stress always existed?

Utterslev Torvs is a neighbourhood in Denmark my class visited during a 5-day Design Charette. Utterslev Udveksling is a workshop works with local waste to teach repair skills & facilitate the sharing of resources & knowledge. Referencing the local pond and ducks in the area, the visual language is nostalgic, playful and Danish, fostering comfort amongst the largely elderly and children residents. The stickers are for doors and mailboxes to indicate the resources (tools or advice) neighbors are willing to share.

The land I am writing, researching, designing and standing on today is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mazina'iga-ziibing Misi-zaagiwininiwag (Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation), the ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᒃ (Anishnaabeg), the ᐅᒋᑉᐧᐁ (ᒋᑉᐯᐧᐊ) (Chippewa), the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples that were violently removed by colonialism and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples that do not have equal rights to their land. I stand in solidarity with the Indigenous community. Free Turtle Island. Free Congo. Free Sudan. Free Palestine.
